The leap into running his own business

While I am still young, I am taking my chance and starting something of my own, Tim Derks said six years ago. No sooner said than done: he registered with the Chamber of Commerce and started his own company. With TDS Logistics I offer a reliable partner in logistics across Europe. That sometimes makes our planning complex and labour-intensive, but if the customer is happy, so are we.

Quality and reliability

TDS Logistics vehicles can be found in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. At present the organisation focuses mainly on Dutch airports and the German Ruhr region. We are currently expanding our carrier network further, preferably with our own vehicles, Tim says. There is quite a bit of quality difference in the market, and we like to be known for our quality and reliability. That is why at TDS Logistics we go only for the very best.

Healthy growth, step by step

Over the past six years TDS Logistics grew slowly but very deliberately. In the first year Tim worked from home, then from a small warehouse with a little office. In the third year he hired his first employee, and in the fourth year the company grew healthily. At its first five-year milestone TDS Logistics moved to Ravenstein, where Tim now shares a fine office with two employees. We are still looking for a planner and a few extra drivers. That is how we keep growing healthily.

A TMS for TDS

TDS Logistics recently started working with the FiLogic TMS. When I first started, I still made my orders and invoices in Word and Excel, Tim says. Until at some point I thought: surely there has to be a better way. I looked for a more efficient way of working and found the FiLogic TMS. The OpenTMS creates an order automatically, and with one click I have a matching invoice. That saves me so much time.
